Turkey: Kusadasi

Our time in Kusadasi, Turkey....after much work in Africa and 'go, go, go' type touring in Istanbul, we took it easy for 4 days in Kusadasi.  Not much to write about as far as what we did because we mostly just rested, hung out as a family, and went to the beach.

To our friend Holly from Tanzania....you recommended the book series called Mark of the Lion by Francine Rivers....and that book series filled up these days as well.  Totally addictive and every spare moment was spent reading all those books.

The rental car company messed up our reservation so we were PACKED into the smaller than ordered car.  But it was only about an hour from the airport in Izmir to Kusadasi.

View of Agean Sea from rooftop 'porch' at the place we stayed...

Went shopping at a place that was like a SuperWalMart.  Really surprised at the size of this place but figure this company 'Kipa' is following WalMart's strategy of winning the small to mid sized city market and then expanding from there.

AJ the Mummy....

Goofy boy with sisters glasses...

AJ had a protest march through the apartment....

"Give me Watermellon or Give me Nap..."  LOL

Watching popcorn pop on the stove....

AJ learning to write his name....

Time for a haircut...

Haircut by Mommy using Daddy's shaver....

Hey batter batter batter...swing batter!

Love these pictures of Rachel and AJ

At the Aegean Sea...

The little heads bobbing / swimming in the distance near the ropes in upper left side of photo are S and me....

Building a sand castle in the ocean...

We were fishing here...

And actually caught a tiny fish thanks to S...

The fish were scared of S after her catch...

Arrived at the hotel where our tour group was...

And had fun at that hotel as well...

May 31 saw us head to Ephesus with the tour and June 1 we headed out on our cruise to Greece....

  1. I am glad you were able to rest and relax before your next tour because if it is anything like the last tour, you will be go, go go!

And Rachel - what happened to your leg? It is all wrapped up...I hope it is okay.

    Enjoy your cruise!

    1. Laurel, the wrap around her leg is to protect her veins as her pregnancy progresses. It is basically a compression wrap that helps keep things where they are supposed to be!

  2. Love the Mark of the Lion Series!! Redeeming Love by F Rivers is a cracker too! As is The Shofar Blew (although that one is quite close to the bone!)
